Military Service, 1952. 20 through 1954 in the U.S. Army with duty in Korea and with separation as Staff Sergeant. During his service he received various citation metals and ribbons including the Commendation Ribbon with Metal Pendant and Bronze Star.

Employment, 1954, Shenandoah, Page County, Iowa 51601. 20 where he was associated with Farmaster Products Company for 18 years serving as Vice President and General Manager and four years on the board of directors of Wickes Corporation. He then served as Executive Vice president for Mount Arbor Nursery for seven years until 1982. Rex and his family then moved to McPherson, Kansas, where he was employed as plant manager for Femco Corporation, retiring in 1994.

Organizations. 20 He was a member of the Shenandoah Booster Club where he accomplished some major projects while serving as President. He had been a member of Shenandoah Chamber of Commerce, Shenandoah Industrial Board, Rotary International where he served as President and District Governor's Representative. He also was a member of Toastmasters International, Director of West Page County Red Cross, Drive Chairman for United Way, Advisory Board of Area XIII Vocational School, member of the American Legion for 46 years and also a member of the VFW and Life member of Disabled American Veterans. While living in McPherson, Kansas, Rex was active in the chamber of commerce serving on the McPherson Airport Improvement Committee. He was appointed by Kansas Governor Carlin to serve on the Kansas Calvary for encouraging industries, both national and international levels to relocate to Kansas.
