Obituary, 5 Mar 2005, Greeley, Weld County, Colorado, USA. 4094 Ardath Smith, 85, of Eaton, formerly of Fort Collins, died Thursday, March 3, at the Gray Cara West care center in Evans.

She was born July 18, 1919, in Wayne, Neb., to John A. and Eva A. (Olson) Johnson.

On May 13, 1978, she married Willis E. Smith in Fort Collins. They lived in Fort Collins before moving to Eaton in 2002. Mrs. Smith retired from the U.S. Forest Service in 1980 and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Collins. She and her husband loved traveling.

Survivors are her husband, Willis Smith of Eaton; two daughters and their husbands, Kathleen A. and Robert Taylor of Dixon, Calif., and Patricia L. and Gerald Smith of Eaton; a stepdaughter and her husband, Sharon and Charles Brauch of Fort Collins; a sister and her husband, Janet K. and William Lauer, and a brother, Darrell Johnson, all of Fort Collins; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Steven and Kerstin Smith of AbuDhabi, UAE, Stacey and Andrew Neal of Charlotte, N.C., Jason Smith of San Diego, Calif., Jeff and Ann Brauch and Jill and William Finnigan, all of Fort Collins, Jeannie and Warren Do of Broomfield, Robin and Mark Spaur of Milliken and Janet and Andy Mills of Casper, Wyo.; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gordon Johnson.

Memorial services to celebrate Ardath's life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Congregational Church of Eaton, 352 2nd St. Cremation. Graveside inurnment services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Grandview Cemetery, Fort Collins.
